Dear Parents,
On behalf of the Open Bible Academy (OBA) staff and faculty, Welcome! We count it a privilege to present OBA as a potential partner with you in the training of your children as we seek to bring each student into conformity with Jesus Christ (Eph. 4:11-13) and to accomplish God’s objective of equipping them for life (2 Tim. 3:7). As we teach each student, it is our desire and hope to model spiritual truth and challenge our students to grow intellectually, physically and socially.
Deuteronomy 6 teaches that parents are to expose their children to continual, heart-based, accurate teaching about God. Colossians 2:3 boldly asserts that true wisdom and knowledge are “hidden in” or found in Christ. These passages and others have been understood by people of God to require parental responsibility for the education of their children.
Though “academics” may flourish in some public settings, clearly the effect of leaving God out of the classroom fosters a fertile climate in which the philosophy of Humanism may thrive. Humanism teaches that there is no higher authority than the individual and thus opens the classroom to the dangers of open sin and immorality and the rejection of clear Bible teaching.
Christian education, however, clearly presents all subject matter in light of Scripture with a Biblical view of God as well as guiding principles to equip students for life (Col.3:16). We believe that God does provide a special blessing for those who recognize this truth and make the sacrifice for Christian education.
We hope that the information provided on this web site is helpful as you prayerfully consider the Open Bible Academy for your child/children’s education. Please feel free to contact me if you should have any questions or to schedule a meeting.
In the service of our Savior,
Bob Schneider
